Theft solved in 48 hours: Anantapur police recover 21 tolas of stolen gold jewelry

Anantapur – Andhra Pradesh: In a commendable display of efficiency, the Anantapur Two Town police cracked a significant jewelry theft case within 48 hours of the complaint. Authorities recovered 21 tolas of gold jewelry valued at approximately Rs.15 lakh, much to the relief of the victims. The District Superintendent of Police, P Jagadish, congratulated the Two Town police for their swift action and recovery.

Police crack case within 48 hours

The incident occurred late last month at the home of a government teacher in Kripanandanagar, Anantapur. Following a complaint, Circle Inspector M Srikanth registered the case and launched an intensive investigation. With support from his team, CI Srikanth managed to trace the suspects and recover the stolen jewelry within two days.

Modus operandi: Acquaintances turned thieves

The primary suspect, Vijay Kumar Singh, a 41-year-old tattoo artist from Bihar, currently residing in Anantapur’s Aravinda Nagar, was a known acquaintance of the teacher’s family. Vijay Kumar and his wife, Kumari Naina, frequently visited the victim’s home and noted the presence of valuable jewelry. Taking advantage of their familiarity, Vijay Kumar allegedly stole a jewelry box containing 21 tolas of gold during a recent visit.

Arrest and jewelry recovery

Vijay Kumar, his wife Kumari Naina, and their associate, Jenne Vannuruswamy from Garladinne Mandal, were arrested in connection with the theft. The suspects had attempted to pawn the stolen gold at a private bank. With decisive efforts by CI Srikanth and the Two Town police team, all stolen assets were swiftly recovered, bringing relief and gratitude to the victim and her family.

Victim’s relief and police commendation

Following the successful operation, District SP P Jagadish congratulated the officers involved in the case, including CI Srikanth, SI Rushendra Babu, ASI Srinivasulu, and police constables Tirupathaiah, Amar, Venu Gopal, and Sudhakar. The teacher’s wife expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Anantapur police for returning the precious jewelry gifted by her parents.

This swift recovery by the Anantapur Two Town police showcases effective teamwork and diligent investigation, reaffirming trust in local law enforcement’s commitment to justice.
