Draksharamam Temple EO clarifies: Abhishekams continue amid misleading social media rumours

Andhra Pradesh: Draksharamam Sri Bhimeshwara Swamy Temple Executive Officer (EO) Allu Venkata Durga Bhawani has urged devotees not to believe misleading social media rumours about the discontinuation of abhishekams at the temple. She clarified that abhishekams for Lord Bhimeshwara Swamy and Goddess Sri Sri Manikyamba are being conducted daily, adhering to the rules set by the Central Archaeological Department.
Revised rituals to preserve historical integrity
EO Bhawani explained that the Central Archaeological Department has prohibited abhishekams involving spices to protect the temple’s ancient structures. Instead, only pure water is allowed.
Timings: Regular abhishekams are conducted between 6 am and 10 am.
Special Mondays in Karthika: Abhishekams are extended from 4 am to 4 pm.
Vayu Lingam Arrangements: Devotees can pour their offerings at the Vayu Lingam near the north gopuram.
Action against misinformation spreaders
The temple authorities have lodged a police complaint against individuals spreading false information online. EO Bhawani assured devotees that such acts are being dealt with strictly to prevent further confusion.
Appeal to devotees
EO Bhawani requested devotees to rely only on official updates from temple authorities and refrain from trusting unverified social media posts. She emphasized that all rituals are conducted in a manner that respects both tradition and preservation needs.
