CPM collects relief fund for Wayanad disaster victims

Amalapuram – Andhra Pradesh: (Relief Assistance) In response to the tragic hill collapse in Wayanad, Kerala, which has claimed 174 lives, the Communist Party of India (Marxist) initiated a relief fund collection drive in Amalapuram on Saturday. Ramadevi, a member of the state executive committee of the CPM, led the effort alongside CPM public associations.

Ramadevi made an urgent appeal to the people of Andhra Pradesh, urging them to respond to the victims on humanitarian grounds. She emphasized that the affected individuals are in serious need of assistance and that contributions can significantly impact their recovery and rebuilding efforts.

The fundraising activities took place at key locations in Amalapuram, including K Agraharam, Bank Street, and Clock Pillar Centers. Contributions were solicited from local shopkeepers, small traders, banks, and motorists, raising a total of Rs 10,538 for the relief fund, according to CPM District Convener Kaarem Venkateswara Rao.

Party leaders, including Balram Durgaprasad, Krishnaveni Naga Varalakshmi, G Durgaprasad, N Balaram, K Krishnaveni, T Naga Varalakshmi, Fithala Ramachandra Rao, B Srinu, Seeru Rambabu, Shankar, Mohana Rao, and Polamuri Srinu, participated in the collection drive.
