Special Report: Bahujana Sena is spearheading efforts to create a more equitable society by promoting inter-caste marriages, aiming to eliminate caste, religious, and economic disparities. Since 2016, the organization has facilitated around 500 such marriages, striving to build a foundation for a casteless society.

Promotion of inter-caste Marriages

Bahujana Sena, under the leadership of President Matte Babi, has successfully orchestrated approximately 500 inter-caste marriages since 2016, always with the mutual consent of both families. Babi emphasizes that even if minor issues arise post-marriage, they are resolved with the help of elders from both sides, who are invited to celebrate the first anniversary of the marriage.

Social programs and unity efforts

Since 2020, Bahujana Sena has been actively organizing various social programs, including spiritual feasts, to promote unity across castes. The organization aims to foster social cohesion and inclusivity through these initiatives.

Awareness and support initiatives

Bahujana Sena’s core objectives include organizing awareness conferences to promote a casteless society, working towards caste unity, and providing essential services like education, healthcare, and employment to underprivileged communities.

Recognition of service

In 2021, Bahujana Sena, in collaboration with a news channel and chaired by Matte Babi, honoured 72 individuals for their exceptional contributions, particularly those who supported victims during the COVID-19 pandemic. This event was held on Constitution Day, highlighting the organization’s commitment to recognizing and celebrating outstanding service.

Local impact

In Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, Bahujana Sena has facilitated numerous inter-caste and inter-religious marriages to advance the vision of social equality championed by great leaders like Ambedkar, Phule, and Periyar. A recent example includes the successful social equality marriage between the families of Dharavatu Saibalaji (Lambadi) and Kurama Jani (Mala) in Bhimadolu, achieved with mutual consent and encouragement from both sides.
