English Club launched to promote language excellence and growth

Proddatur – Andhra Pradesh: In a significant step toward promoting English language proficiency, the English Club (EC) was officially launched on Saturday at the NGO Home at Proddatur. Kadapa Deputy DEO Rajagopal Reddy highlighted that setting up a language club strengthens linguistic skills among students, with the newly formed English Club expected to spark greater interest in the English language. The event saw 15 retired English teachers being felicitated for their contributions.

Formation of English Club sparks interest in language learning

Kadapa Deputy DEO Rajagopal Reddy, who unveiled the English Club logo, noted that the creation of such clubs plays a crucial role in nurturing students’ enthusiasm for language learning. “The formation of the English Club has already fostered an increased interest in mastering the English language among students,” he said.

English Club’s mission and vision

The General Secretary of the English Club (EC), Syed Afsar Basha, elaborated on the club’s mission, which revolves around three core aims and seven objectives: promoting excellence in English language teaching, providing a collaborative platform for teachers, and enhancing professional development.

According to Syed Afsar, EC in Proddatur is dedicated to promoting excellence in English language teaching and learning. The club provides a platform for English teachers to share knowledge, ideas, and best practices, and it aims to enhance the professional development of English teachers in the region. Through collaborative efforts, the EC seeks to foster a supportive environment where educators can improve their teaching methods and advance their careers.

In pursuit of these goals, Syed Afsar further outlined several key objectives. These include organizing workshops, training sessions, and seminars focused on modern English language teaching techniques, and facilitating collaboration and networking among educators. The club also aims to develop and share resources, materials, and curriculum ideas that will benefit English language teaching. Furthermore, the ETC promotes innovative, interactive approaches to learning, supports the professional growth of teachers, and organizes events, competitions, and activities that enhance English literacy among students. Lastly, the club fosters a sense of community and camaraderie among English language teachers in Proddatur, ensuring a unified approach to achieving these shared goals.

Recognition of retired teachers and Club leadership

The event also honoured 15 retired English teachers for their invaluable service in promoting education. The leadership of the English Club, including President Rafiq Khan, General Secretary Syed Afsar Basha, Secretary Sushila, Vice President Prabhukumar, and Treasurer Sivaprasad, expressed their commitment to advancing the English language’s role in education.

President Rafiq Khan remarked that the English Club is dedicated to improving language skills and building a better learning environment for students in Proddatur. Several teachers, including Ramasubbaiah and Ramana Reddy, were present to support the club’s initiative.

This collective effort promises to enhance English teaching practices and improve students’ language abilities, contributing to a brighter future for English education in Proddatur and across the state.
