AP JAC Amaravati urges immediate implementation of promised reforms

Vijayawada – Andhra Pradesh: The State Executive meeting of the AP JAC Amaravati Women’s Section, held at the Revenue Bhavan meeting hall in Vijayawada, saw prominent leaders pressing for immediate implementation of key promises made by the coalition government during the elections.

Call for immediate IR announcement

AP JAC Amaravati leaders emphasized the urgent need for the declaration of Interim Relief (IR), which was a significant promise made by the coalition government. “IR should be declared immediately as promised,” they insisted.

Appreciation for positive government decisions

The assembly extended its gratitude to Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu for several positive decisions, including same-day salaries and pensions for employees, five-day workweeks for Secretariat and HOD employees, the continuation of 24% House Rent Allowance (HRA), and the issuance of GPS implementation orders.

Need for “SHE Box” in District Collector Offices

A significant demand was the establishment of “SHE Boxes” in every district collector’s office to address complaints of sexual and other harassment faced by women employees at the workplace. State Chairperson Pare Lakshmi highlighted the inadequacy of Internal Complaint Committees (ICCs) and stressed the importance of providing a clear mechanism for women to report harassment. She Called for the finance department to issue orders on the implementation of childcare leave for women employees.

Appointment of 12th PRC Commissioner

The meeting called for the immediate appointment of the 12th Pay Revision Commission (PRC) Commissioner. Bopparaju and Palishetti Damodara Rao, who participated as chief guests, emphasized the necessity of this appointment to ensure timely implementation of the 12th PRC, fulfilling the coalition government’s election promises and delivering justice to employees, teachers, and pensioners.

Strengthening women’s division

State Secretary General of the AP JAC Amaravati Women’s Division, Ponnuru Vijaya Lakshmi, outlined plans to further strengthen the women’s division at the state, district, and zonal levels. She announced upcoming zonal-level meetings aimed at bolstering the women’s department.

The meeting, chaired by Pare Lakshmi, included other state executive committee members. The gathering also featured district chairpersons and general secretaries from 26 districts, alongside other notable leaders from various affiliated associations.

The AP JAC Amaravati Women’s Section reaffirmed its commitment to advocating for the rights and welfare of employees, particularly women, and called for continued government support to achieve these goals.
