UTF distributes groceries to flood victims in Vijayawada

Andhra Pradesh: In a humanitarian effort to aid flood-affected people of Vijayawada, the United Teachers Federation (UTF) Dr. B R Ambedkar Konaseema District Branch organized a grocery and vegetable distribution drive to support 11 canteens catering to flood victims. The event, attended by both state and district leaders, highlighted UTF’s ongoing commitment to social welfare and disaster relief.

UTF’s efforts to support flood victims

Under the direction of the Dr. B R Ambedkar Konaseema District Branch of the United Teachers Federation, essential groceries and vegetables were distributed on Friday to 11 canteens run by public organizations in Vijayawada. The distribution aims to alleviate the suffering of residents who are grappling with the aftermath of recent heavy rains and floods. Leaders from UTF at both the district and state levels were present to oversee the program and provide support.

Nakka Venkateswarlu praises UTF’s social work

During the event, Nakka Venkateswarlu, State President of UTF, commended the organization for its role in providing essential food supplies to those impacted by the floods. He emphasized that UTF has a long history of engaging in social service and disaster relief efforts across Andhra Pradesh. He pointed out that UTF previously organized relief initiatives during natural calamities, including the 2021 floods in Konaseema district, where essential items were distributed to affected villagers.

Leaders applaud teachers’ participation in social services

UTF State Secretary S Jyoti Basu and District General Secretary MDV Subbarao praised the selfless efforts of teachers who have contributed to these relief programs. They acknowledged the teachers’ participation in helping flood victims and recognized the significant role they play in the federation’s broader mission of social service.

The leaders extended their appreciation to the public associations and workers who have been tirelessly cooking and serving meals to the victims for the past 10 days. UTF’s engagement in these activities further cements its reputation as a socially responsible organization dedicated to public welfare.

The event saw participation from several leaders, including UTF State Secretary Manohar, district leaders YVSN Balaji, G Raju, G Sita Devi, T Vijayakrishna, V Someswara Rao, Sridar, and M Ravi. Leaders from public associations such as DV Krishna, Andramalyadri, Kaarem Venkateswara Rao, and SFI leader Venkateswara Rao were also in attendance. Their combined efforts ensured the smooth execution of the grocery distribution program, providing much-needed assistance to flood-stricken communities.

This initiative by the UTF, in collaboration with local public organizations, demonstrates a strong commitment to supporting the people of Vijayawada during times of crisis, underscoring the organization’s long-standing mission of social philanthropy.
