CPM demands immediate construction of new building for Social Welfare Hostel !!!

By : D. Jagan Babu: Bureau Chief-South

Andhra Pradesh: Dr. B R Ambedkar Konaseema District CPM Convener, Karem Venkateswara Rao, has called for the urgent construction of a new building for the Konkapalli Social Welfare Hostel in Amalapuram. During his tour of welfare hostels on Sunday, Rao inspected the boys’ hostel at Konkapalli and voiced serious concerns about the deplorable conditions faced by the students.

Rao highlighted that the Konkapalli Social Welfare Hostel has been operating out of a rented building for years, lacking even basic amenities. Students expressed frustration over the inadequate facilities, citing issues such as an excessive mosquito problem due to the absence of window nets and improperly functioning bathroom doors. The landlord’s disinterest in repairing the old building further exacerbates the students’ plight.

Rao criticized the government’s negligence, stating that the current conditions are causing significant hardships for the hostel students. He demanded the immediate construction of a new building to provide the students with a proper living environment.

Additionally, he called for the installation of windows, provision of functional toilets, and other necessary facilities.

Moreover, Rao insisted on the immediate release of maintenance funds that have been pending since last September. He warned that the CPM, along with student and public associations, would intensify their struggle if local public representatives and senior government officials fail to address these issues promptly.

SFI District Convener K. Shankar and leaders Polamuri Srinivas and others accompanied Rao during his visit, supporting the demand for improved living conditions for the hostel students.
