Kolkata:- Eastern Railway is dedicatedly advancing its efforts to enhance safety and connectivity along its network by commissioning Limited Height Subways (LHS)/ Road Under Bridges (RUBs) at various strategic locations to substitute level crossing gates.

Recognizing the imperative to minimize road interfaces with railway tracks, Eastern Railway has prioritized the construction of RUBs and LHS as a cost-effective and executable solution. These initiatives aim to eliminate potential risks associated with level crossings, ensuring the safety of both road users and railway passengers.

LHS, in particular, offer a seamless passage for road vehicles and pedestrians across the railway track, entirely funded by the railways. By eradicating the need for extensive construction work and avoiding addressing land requisition issues, LHS facilitate uninterrupted traffic flow on both road and rail routes, alleviating congestion and reducing delays.
