CM Revanth Reddy emphasizes role of government teachers in education overhaul

Hyderabad: In an intimate gathering with teachers at LB Stadium, Hyderabad, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy articulated his vision for the future of Telangana’s education system. He underscored the pivotal role of government teachers in shaping the state’s future, aligning with the aspirations of the movement to improve the education system.

Commitment to education

CM Revanth Reddy emphasized the government’s commitment to the education sector, highlighting that 7.3 percent of this year’s total budget, approximately Rs 21,000 crore, has been allocated to the education department. This substantial investment aims to foster a robust public education system that will benefit both teachers and students.

Promotions and transfers successfully completed

In a significant milestone, the state government successfully completed promotions and transfers of around 35,000 teachers across Telangana. This initiative aims to enhance the efficiency and morale of educators, enabling them to contribute effectively to the education system.

Supporting 59 lakh students

The Chief Minister reminded the attendees of the importance of catering to the needs of 33 lakh students in 10,000 public sector schools and 26 lakh students in 30,000 private schools. He stressed that government schools should be a source of pride for both teachers and students.

Infrastructure and facilities enhancement

To support the education sector, the CM announced the provision of free electricity to all government schools, similar to the benefits provided to farmers and poor families. Additionally, the responsibility of maintaining cleanliness in schools has been entrusted to women’s groups, with an annual allocation of Rs 79 crore for this purpose.

Holistic development initiatives

Chief Minister Revanth proposed the implementation of initiatives such as the Tulsivanam project in schools and increased sports activities to ensure the holistic development of students. Plans for establishing a Skill University were also unveiled, aimed at enhancing students’ skills and preparing them for future challenges.

Creating pride in government schools

The Chief Minister urged teachers to create an environment in government schools that fosters pride and enthusiasm among students. He emphasized that the concerted efforts of teachers and the government would lead to a transformative change in the education system.

The meeting was attended by Minister Ponnam Prabhakar, MLAs, MLCs, Professor Kodandaram, Chief Secretary Shanti Kumari, and various government advisers and officials, all of whom pledged their support for the Chief Minister’s vision for educational reform in Telangana.
