AP government extends Working Journalist Health Scheme !!!

Andhra Pradesh:- The Andhra Pradesh government has extended the Working Journalist Health Scheme (WJHS) for the financial year 2024-25, according to a press note by Himanshu Shukla, Director of the Department of Information and Public Relations. The extension was authorized through GO MS No. 82, following the approval of proposals submitted by the Information and Public Relations Department.
Under the WJHS, journalists and their dependent family members can receive medical services valued up to Rs. 2 lakhs for any unexpected illnesses, with no limit on the number of times this benefit can be utilized within the year. The scheme offers medical services akin to those available under the Employees Health Scheme (EHS) and includes free outpatient services for prescribed treatments, without any income restrictions.
The Nandamuri Tarakaramarao Vaidya Seva Trust will serve as the implementing agency, while the Commissioner of the Information and Public Relations Department will act as the nodal agency for this health scheme. Director Himanshu Shukla emphasized that all accredited journalists should take advantage of this facility.
