Vice President Dhankhar highlights forensic science as the cornerstone of justice

Gandhinagar – Gujarat : Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar on Friday, emphasized the crucial role of forensic science in the justice system, stating that it is not only a tool to bring perpetrators to justice but also vital in establishing innocence.
Dhankhar referred to forensic science as the cornerstone of justice, highlighting its importance in ensuring that evidence speaks louder than opinions and that facts triumph over speculation. He stressed that the field is indispensable in preventing miscarriages of justice by ensuring that the guilty are punished and the innocent are protected.
Strengthening faith in the Rule of Law
Addressing the Faculty and Students of the National Forensic Science University, Dhankhar underscored the role of forensic science in strengthening citizens’ faith in the rule of law. He asserted that miscarriages of justice are deeply demoralizing for society and can only be avoided through the application of forensic science.
Forensic science in global challenges
Highlighting the role of forensic science in addressing global challenges like climate change and ecological degradation, Dhankhar pointed out its diverse affirmative roles in identifying pollution sources, tracking wildlife poaching, and monitoring compliance with environmental regulations.
Expanding career horizons beyond government service
Dhankhar urged young professionals to explore opportunities beyond government service, emphasizing the vast and productive possibilities in fields like forensic science. He encouraged a broader perspective on career opportunities, urging students and professionals to uphold the highest standards of ethics and integrity in their work.
Ethics and integrity in forensic science
Dhankhar stressed that any dilution of ethical standards could have grave consequences, such as allowing a terrorist to escape or sending an innocent person to jail. He urged the audience to always let truth guide their work and ensure that justice is served without bias or compromise.
