39 police personnel suspended for misconduct and agitation incitement

Hyderabad: In a significant move to reinforce discipline, the Telangana Special Police (TSP) has suspended 39 personnel for alleged misconduct and instigating agitation within battalions, which impacted morale and operational efficiency.

Swift action to address breach of conduct

The Telangana Special Police issued suspension orders to 39 personnel across multiple battalions, responding to incidents that involved breach of conduct rules and incitement of unrest within the ranks. The suspended personnel, who belong to different battalions and ranks, were reportedly involved in actions that negatively affected discipline, camaraderie, and operational readiness in the force.

Suspensions in 7 battalions

The suspensions impacted personnel across several battalions. 13 personnel from battalion 3, 7 from 4, 1 from 5, 1 from 6, 3 from 12, 8 from 13 and 6 from 17. The suspended individuals range from head constables to police constables, marking a comprehensive disciplinary action across varying ranks.

Misconduct and agitation impact morale and discipline

According to sources, the suspended officers were allegedly involved in activities that created dissent within the battalions, leading to low morale and disrupting the working environment. This behaviour was deemed contrary to the discipline expected within the Telangana Police, impacting the force’s overall mission to maintain law and order.

Investigation and continued oversight

A full investigation is underway to determine the root causes of the unrest and pinpoint any additional breaches of conduct. Senior police officials are closely monitoring battalion activities to ensure a return to a cohesive and constructive atmosphere within the ranks. Further disciplinary measures may follow if additional personnel are found to have violated codes of conduct.
