PM Modi inaugurates Indian Newspaper Society Towers in Mumbai !!!

Maharashtra:- Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the INS Towers on Saturday, during his visit to the Indian Newspaper Society (INS) Secretariat at G-Block, Bandra Kurla Complex, Mumbai. The new facility aims to meet the evolving needs of INS members, offering modern and efficient office space to serve as the nerve center for the newspaper industry in Mumbai.

Celebrating the Indian Newspaper Society

Addressing the gathering, Prime Minister Modi congratulated all members of the Indian Newspaper Society on the inauguration of the new tower. He expressed hope that the enhanced working environment would further strengthen India’s democracy. The Prime Minister highlighted that the Indian Newspaper Society, established before independence, has been a witness to the country’s journey and played a crucial role in communicating it to the people.

Role of media in Viksit Bharat

Modi emphasized the pivotal role of newspapers and magazines in the next 25-year journey towards Viksit Bharat. He underlined the media’s responsibility in raising awareness about citizens’ rights and potentials. Citing the success of digital transactions in India, Modi remarked on how confident citizens achieve great success, noting the significant global interest in India’s digital public infrastructure.

Media as a catalyst for change

The Prime Minister acknowledged the media’s natural role in creating discourse on serious issues and highlighted the impact of government policies on media operations. He praised initiatives like Jan Dhan Yojna, Swachh Bharat, and Startup India, crediting the media for integrating these movements into the national conversation. Modi pointed out that decisions made by the Indian Newspaper Society influence the country’s media landscape, encouraging media houses to promote humanitarian and environmental issues, such as the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign.

Tourism and global presence

Modi also stressed the need for collective branding and marketing in tourism. He suggested that newspapers dedicate a month to promote tourism in specific states, fostering mutual interest among states. The Prime Minister called on Indian newspapers to enhance their global presence, leveraging India’s ascent to becoming the third-largest economy. He urged media houses to expand their reach into all UN languages, using digital platforms and AI to facilitate this growth.

Strengthening democracy through media

Concluding his address, Modi encouraged media houses to maximize the potential of digital editions, free from the space constraints of print editions. He expressed confidence that the media’s robust engagement would further strengthen India’s democracy, driving the country’s progress.

Prominent attendees at the event included Maharashtra Governor Ramesh Bais, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Deputy Chief Ministers Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar, and INS President Rakesh Sharma.
