Railway Minister urged to restore concessions for journalists !!!

Delhi:- Vizianagaram TDP MP Kalishetty Appalanaidu has made a strong appeal to Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav, urging the restoration of concessional railway passes for journalists, which were temporarily cancelied during the Covid-19 pandemic. Additionally, he requested an increase in concessions for senior citizens and enhanced facilities for physically and mentally challenged passengers.
On Wednesday, Appalanaidu presented a letter to Minister Vaishnav, highlighting the hardships faced by accredited journalists who have been covering news and writing articles at their own expense since the suspension of their concessional passes. He emphasized the critical need to reinstate these passes to support the press in their essential work.
In his letter, Appalanaidu also underscored the importance of improving travel facilities for passengers who require additional support. He called for increased concessions in rail ticket charges for senior citizens and urged the approval of disability certificates issued by state governments to ensure adequate concessions and facilities for the physically and mentally challenged.
Appalanaidu’s appeal aims to address the pressing needs of journalists and other vulnerable passenger groups, advocating for their welfare and support in the railway system.
