Vivek Oberoi’s Daughter Sahara Shah Signs First Film, Leaves Actor Emotional

Mumbai: Actor Vivek Oberoi shared an emotional moment with his adopted daughter Sahara Shah as she announced that she has signed her first film as a lead actor. The 22-year-old cancer survivor revealed her upcoming Nepali film at a Cancer Rose Day event, where she sought Oberoi’s blessings before beginning her acting journey.

Over the years, Vivek Oberoi has supported several children battling cancer, helping with their medical treatment and education. He adopted Sahara when she was just two-and-a-half years old and introduced her to the Cancer Patients Aid Association in Mumbai, an organisation that supports underprivileged cancer patients and children who cannot afford treatment.

At the Cancer Rose Day event on Tuesday, Sahara surprised Oberoi by announcing that she is preparing to make her acting debut as the lead in a Nepali film scheduled for release next year. Alongside her interest in acting, Sahara is also trained in aviation and is working towards becoming a commercial pilot.

Sahara expressed her gratitude to Vivek Oberoi, whom she affectionately calls her ‘dada’. She said that his constant encouragement in acting, dancing and other interests gave her the confidence to dream beyond the limitations of her circumstances.

She also told Oberoi that she had watched his journey since childhood and wanted to follow in his footsteps. For Sahara, receiving his blessings before beginning her film career was an emotional and significant moment.

Speaking about her journey, Sahara credited Oberoi for giving her the opportunity to dream big and supporting her and her mother throughout the years. She described his contribution to her life as something far greater than any gift she could give him in return.

The emotional moment continued as Sahara presented the announcement to Oberoi. The actor hugged her and unveiled the poster of her upcoming film.

Vivek Oberoi became emotional while recalling Sahara’s childhood battle with cancer. He said he still remembered seeing her as a two-and-a-half-year-old undergoing chemotherapy, with red eyes and a pale face.

Oberoi recalled the determination he saw in the young girl during her treatment and said he believed she would overcome the illness. He described her recovery as a deeply emotional journey and expressed his pride at seeing her move forward with confidence.

“I’m crying with pride,” Oberoi said while congratulating Sahara. He wished her success in her acting career and encouraged her to always remember that she is a winner.

Today, Sahara is cancer-free and preparing to begin a new chapter as an actor. Her first film marks another milestone in a journey that began with a difficult battle with cancer and has now moved towards fulfilling her dreams in the entertainment industry.
