Andhra Pradesh: On Thursday, the Constituency Working Committee of the Andhra Pradesh Journalists Forum (APJF) elected its new committee under the leadership of Honorary President Gipson. The meeting, held at the Kurni Kalyana Mandapam, elected M Narasappa as the President of the Adoni division of Kurnool District.

Call for better support for journalists

Narasappa, expressing satisfaction with his selection, urged journalist leaders to strive for higher positions to effectively advocate for their issues. He highlighted several pressing concerns faced by journalists, including the lack of accreditation cards, housing, and health cards. He lamented that journalists, who serve as a crucial bridge between the public and authorities, are not afforded the dignity and support necessary for their profession.

“Journalists today are struggling to live with dignity and support their families. Despite our role in addressing the problems of the public, leaders, and officials, the government remains indifferent to our challenges. Over the past five years, we have faced numerous problems and attacks,” Narasappa said.

Narasappa emphasized the need for a strong union of journalists to tackle these issues and promised to work closely with union leaders to address the challenges faced by the profession.

Senior APJF leaders, including Emmiganur Permanent President KMD Farooq, District President Ramakrishna, General Secretary Saikumar Naidu, and senior leaders Mugathi Parthu, Rukman, Eranna, and Kanakaveedu Raju, attended the meeting.
