PM Modi, US Vice President Vance review bilateral ties progress

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with US Vice President JD Vance in New Delhi, reaffirming the commitment to strengthen India-US relations through trade, strategic cooperation, and shared global interests.
High-level meeting highlights bilateral cooperation
Vice President Vance was accompanied by the Second Lady, Usha Vance, their children, and senior members of the US Administration. The meeting marked a continuation of high-level engagements between India and the United States, building on the momentum from Prime Minister Modi’s earlier visit to Washington, DC, in February.
Emphasis on trade and strategic partnership
The two leaders welcomed the significant progress in ongoing negotiations toward a mutually beneficial India-US Bilateral Trade Agreement. They emphasized that the agreement would prioritize the welfare and economic interests of both nations.
Additionally, discussions focused on expanding cooperation in key sectors, including energy, defense, and strategic technologies, reflecting the robust nature of the evolving partnership.

Shared vision: MAGA and Viksit Bharat 2047
Prime Minister Modi recalled his earlier discussions with President Donald Trump, highlighting the shared vision of leveraging national development initiatives — Make America Great Again (MAGA) and Viksit Bharat 2047 — to drive collaborative efforts between the two nations.
Regional and global concerns addressed
Both leaders also exchanged views on pressing regional and global issues. They reaffirmed their commitment to diplomacy and dialogue as essential tools for resolving conflicts and maintaining global peace and stability.
Personal exchange and diplomatic warmth
Prime Minister Modi extended his warm wishes to Vice President Vance and his family for a pleasant and meaningful stay in India. He also conveyed greetings to President Trump and expressed anticipation for his upcoming visit to India later this year.
