Telangana: Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has raised concerns over unregulated journalism, questioning whether individuals who make unrestrained comments can be considered journalists. He emphasized the need for regulations and urged for a discussion in the Assembly on the issue.
Concern over personal attacks in journalism
Revanth Reddy expressed frustration over certain individuals making personal allegations under the pretext of journalism, stating that their remarks are infuriating. He noted that while the government has not imposed restrictions, as was done in previous administrations, there is growing concern about the misuse of journalistic freedom.

Highlighting the impact of unchecked commentary, the Chief Minister stressed that journalists and media houses should adhere to ethical reporting standards. He suggested discussions with journalist associations to explore potential legal frameworks that could curb misleading and harmful narratives.
Warning against personal allegations
The Chief Minister cautioned that personal attacks on public figures could lead to unrest among party workers and the public. He warned against provocative statements and urged individuals to be accountable for the consequences of their words.
