Eastern Railway RPF Cracks Down on Illegal Ticketing with Operation UPLABDH !!!

Kolkata:- The Railway Protection Force (RPF) of Eastern Railway has made significant strides in ensuring passenger safety and security through various operations carried out over the month of June 2024. In a major effort to curb illegal ticketing activities and protect passengers from fraudulent practices, the RPF has successfully executed “Operation UPLABDH,” resulting in the arrest of individuals involved in such malpractices and the recovery of multiple railway e-tickets.

As part of this operation, RPF Eastern Railway arrested 32 individuals involved in the touting of e-tickets, leading to the registration of 35 cases under Section 143 of the Railway Act during June 2024. A total of 443 e-tickets were seized, including 371 past journey tickets and 72 future journey tickets. The total value of the seized tickets is approximately ₹11,82,253, with the past tickets valued at ₹9,87,031 and the future tickets valued at ₹1,95,222. In addition to the e-tickets, the RPF also seized other accessories from their shops.

Shri Kausik Mitra, Chief Public Relations Officer, Eastern Railway said “Operation UPLABDH underscores relentless efforts to curb illegal ticketing activities and protect our passengers from fraudulent practices. The RPF will continue its rigorous enforcement actions to deter touts and ensure the safety and security of passengers across the Eastern Railway.
