Speaking at a press conference at his residence in Kothapeta, Dr. B R Ambedkar Konaseema district, Subramanyam highlighted the historical context of the scheme. N T Rama Rao originally introduced the pension scheme with an initial amount of Rs. 35. Since then, the coalition government has progressively increased the pension, reaching Rs. 4,000.
In line with the election manifesto, the government will provide an additional Rs. 1,000 per month for the last three months, totaling Rs. 3,000. Thus, pensioners will receive Rs. 4,000 for July, amounting to a cumulative Rs. 7,000. This increment, including arrears, is set to uplift the poor in the state, with distributions beginning at doorsteps on July 1.
