SP emphasizes improved services for the public during surprise inspections

Kadapa – Andhra Pradesh: District SP V Harshavardhan Raju conducted surprise inspections of Siddavatam and Atlur police stations on Wednesday, stressing the need for better service delivery to the public. During the visit, he reviewed station records, interacted with personnel, and issued directives aimed at enhancing the efficiency and responsiveness of the police force.
Direct engagement with complainants
During the inspection, SP Harshavardhan Raju instructed the Station Inspectors (SIs) to engage directly with complainants, ensuring that their grievances are understood and addressed promptly. “It’s crucial for SIs to have a clear understanding of the actions required on each complaint,” he emphasized, urging them to assess whether issues have been resolved in favour of the complainants.
Monitoring of known offenders
The SP also directed SIs to personally interact with known criminals and suspects, inquiring about their lifestyles and sources of income. He stressed the importance of monitoring their activities closely to prevent potential criminal involvement. “Maintaining a vigilant watch on those with a history of unsocial activities is essential to maintaining law and order,” SP said.
ImprovingiInvestigation and case management
SHOs were ordered to maintain detailed records of each case in the CD file, following the checklist prepared by the district police department. SP Raju highlighted the need to improve investigative skills to ensure smooth and effective case handling. He also instructed the crime review meetings to be used as a platform for disseminating orders to lower-level staff, ensuring that duties are performed in accordance with directives.
Quick disposal of seized vehicles
The SP addressed the issue of vehicles seized in various cases, ordering that appropriate measures be taken to dispose of them swiftly. This directive is part of an effort to streamline case management and reduce clutter at police stations.
Emphasis on cleanliness and sanitation
SP Raju underscored the importance of maintaining clean and sanitary police stations. He mandated that one day a week be dedicated to PT work, ensuring that the station premises are kept in good condition. “A clean environment reflects the discipline and dedication of the force,” he remarked.
Visible policing and community engagement
In a bid to enhance visible policing, SP Raju instructed the police to visit villages daily, spending half the day engaging with residents to understand their problems and work toward resolving them. He urged officers to provide better services to the people and remain vigilant about unsocial activities in their respective areas.
The inspection was attended by Additional SP G Venkata Ramadu, Ontimitta CI Krishnamraju Naik, Siddavatam SI Venkata Naga Chiranjeevi, Atlur in-charge SI Raju, and other staff members, all of whom were briefed on the directives issued by the District SP.
