Rayachoti – Andhra Pradesh: Andhra Pradesh Transport and Youth Services Minister Mandipalli Ramprasad Reddy unveiled a poster printed by the Revolutionary Students Forum (RSF) titled “Let’s Work Together for a Drug-Free Society” in Rayachoti. The Minister appreciated RSF for taking up youth awareness initiatives.
Youth falling prey to drug abuse
Speaking at the event, the Minister said drug addiction among students and youth is rising dangerously. What begins as “fun,” he warned, is turning into dependency, leading to depression, social isolation, crime, and even suicide. He urged parents to stay vigilant as drugs are being disguised as chocolates and biscuits to lure minors.
RSF’s statewide awareness plan
RSF State President DM Obulesu Yadav said drug use—particularly marijuana—has increased sharply in the state. Citing the recent murder of activist Penchalayya in Nellore by a drug gang, he demanded immediate action against such networks. RSF announced statewide awareness programmes to protect youth from substance abuse.
Leaders present at the event
PDSU State Vice President M Ankanna, RSF Annamayya District President Venkatesh Yadav, Kadapa District General Secretary Reddy Sai and others participated in the programme.
