Devagiri ZP High School marks 78th Independence Day with patriotic fervour

Devagiri – Andhra Pradesh: Devagiri Zilla Parishad High School celebrated the 78th Independence Day with a spirited event on Thursday, where students, teachers, and local leaders came together to honour the nation’s freedom fighters and reflect on the significance of independence.
Program highlights
The event commenced with the Chairman of the School Management Committee, B Ramanjini, paying homage to the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi, and the Iron Man of India, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. Ramanjini placed flowers before their portraits and unfurled the national flag, signaling the start of the celebrations.
School Head Master C Harinathababu presided over the program, while Telugu Master B Pandurangappa served as the commentator, guiding the event with thoughtful narration.
Speakers emphasize the iImportance of independence
Addressing the gathering, Hindi Pandit V Jayalela remarked, “The freedom we enjoy today is the result of the immense sacrifices made by countless individuals. Our greatest tribute to them is to uphold the values of independence by performing our duties diligently and inspiring future generations with the same spirit.”
Primary teacher Suresh encouraged the students to pursue education with a sense of purpose, saying, “Understanding the significance of Independence Day will not only enhance your knowledge but also drive you to become contributors to society, fulfilling the dreams of our freedom fighters.”
Cultural performances
The program featured patriotic songs by students, including Janani of Class 2 and Anjali and Kaveri of Class 10, whose melodious renditions evoked a deep sense of national pride. Additionally, speeches on the significance of the flag festival were delivered by Navyashree of Class 10, Sneha, Aishwarya, Keerthan of Class 9, and Jayalakshmi and Nandini of Class 8, showcasing the students’ understanding and enthusiasm for the occasion.
Prize distribution
The ceremony concluded with the distribution of prizes to students who excelled in various competitions. First and second prizes were awarded to the winners in Kabaddi, Skipping, Shot Put, and Essay Writing, recognizing their achievements and encouraging their continued participation in such activities.
Commitment to school development
SMC Chairman B Ramanjini announced plans to improve the school infrastructure, including the repair of playground and provision of sound system. He also expressed his commitment to the overall development of the school, emphasizing the importance of providing a conducive learning environment.
The event concluded with the teaching staff felicitating Chairman Ramanjini and Anjaneyulu acknowledging their future contributions to the school growth. The celebration was attended by Bandur Panchayat President Ch Radhika, local YCP leader Raj Kumar, members of the School Management Committee, parents, English teacher Mercy Vijayaleela, PET Master Rajesh, Mahesh, Shukrasena, Sudhakar, Kavya, Sasikala and students participated in the Independence Day Ceremony, who collectively made it a memorable event.
