World Bicycle Day celebrated with Cycle to Work Program in Asansol Division !!!

Asansol:-In celebration of World Bicycle Day on the occasion of World Environment Day, the Asansol Division of Eastern Railway organized a “Cycle to Work” program to promote sustainable transportation and environmental awareness today on 03.06.2024. The event began at the Old Officers Rest House, Asansol, and concluded at the Divisional Railway Manager’s Office.

Chetna Nanda Singh, Divisional Railway Manager, Asansol, led the initiative along with other branch officers and staff. The event aimed to encourage cycling as a healthy and eco-friendly mode of commuting.

Singh emphasized the importance of cycling for environmental sustainability and personal health. He also highlighted the alignment of the event with the “Promoting Mission Life,” which focuses on seven key themes: Save Energy, Save Water, Say No to Single Use Plastic, Adopt Sustainable Lifestyles, Reduce Waste, Adopt Healthy Lifestyles, and Reduce E-waste.

“Today’s Cycle to Work program demonstrates our commitment to Mission Life. By adopting these seven themes, we can collectively make a significant impact on our environment,” said DRM/Asansol.

The event was a resounding success, fostering a sense of community and reinforcing the importance of eco-friendly practices. The Asansol Division remains dedicated to promoting environmental sustainability and healthy living.
