“Operation Nanhe Fariste” Initiative by-RPF (Eastern Railway)

Kolkata:-Railway Protection Force (RPF), Eastern Railway, has demonstrated its unwavering commitment to safeguarding children with the successful implementation of “Operation Nanhe Fariste.” This initiative, aimed at ensuring the safety and protection of minors on Indian Railways, has yielded remarkable results, with 675 children rescued during the current financial year from April 1, 2023, to February 27, 2024.

Under the banner of Operation Nanhe Fariste, RPF/ER has undertaken comprehensive measures to provide 24×7 security to rail users, focusing on the rescue and protection of minor and teenage boys and girls.

The pilot project, spanning across Eastern Railway, showcases the proactive stance of RPF/ER in addressing issues of child trafficking, kidnapping, and cases of missing children within railway premises.

Of the 675 children rescued, comprising 382 males and 293 females, efforts were made to reunite them with their families or place them under the care of authorized NGOs for further rehabilitation.

This commendable achievement underscores the dedication and vigilance of RPF/ER personnel in ensuring the well-being of vulnerable individuals within the railway.
