Achappa’s Album Set for April 24 Release: NFDC Backs Time-Travel Family Drama

New Delhi: National Film Development Corporation Ltd. (NFDC), under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, is gearing up to release its latest Malayalam feature film Achappa’s Album (Grampa’s Album) on April 24. Blending family fantasy, comedy, and emotion, the film explores a compelling time-travel narrative that delves into generational relationships and life choices.

A unique time-travel narrative

Directed by Deepti Pillay Sivan and written by Sanjeev Sivan, Anirban Bhattacharya, and Umesh Nair, the film revolves around a father and son who, through an unexpected twist, begin living each other’s lives. This imaginative premise unfolds into a heartfelt exploration of generational perspectives, emotional bonds, and the consequences of life decisions.

Ensemble cast and technical excellence

The film features a strong ensemble cast led by veteran actor Mohan Agashe, alongside Anjana Appukuttan, Aadinath Kothare, Priyanka Nair, and Sidhanshu Sanjeev Sivan.

The technical team includes renowned cinematographer Manoj Pillai, National Award-winning editor Sreekar Prasad, and music composer Gulraj Singh, promising high production quality.

Speaking about the project, director Deepti Pillay Sivan said the film aims to explore deep human relationships through a simple yet engaging time-travel story, expressing gratitude to NFDC for its support in bringing the vision to life.

Highlighting the organization’s role, Prakash Magdum noted that the film reflects NFDC’s commitment to promoting unique storytelling voices in Indian cinema and has the potential to connect with audiences across generations.

Teaser out, trailer awaited

The first glimpse teaser of Achappa’s Album has already been released on NFDC’s social media platforms, generating early interest among audiences. The official trailer is expected to be launched soon ahead of the film’s theatrical release.
