NFDC Hosts Grand Premiere of Malayalam Film ‘Achappa’s Album’ in Kochi Ahead of Release

New Delhi: The National Film Development Corporation (NFDC) hosted a grand premiere of its latest Malayalam film Achappa’s Album in Kochi on April 21. The star-studded event, held ahead of the film’s nationwide release on April 24, brought together prominent figures from the film industry, celebrating a project that blends imaginative storytelling with emotional depth.
Star-studded premiere event
The premiere was led by NFDC Managing Director Prakash Magdum and General Manager (P&D) Tarun Tareja. The event saw the industry veterans, celebrities, and members of the film fraternity, marking a significant moment for the production.
NFDC’s vision for meaningful cinema
Speaking at the event, Prakash Magdum emphasized that Achappa’s Album reflects NFDC’s commitment to promoting unique and culturally rooted storytelling.
He noted that the film combines a time-travel narrative with strong generational emotions, making it relatable to audiences across age groups. He also reiterated NFDC’s ongoing mission to support meaningful cinema emerging from India’s diverse cultural landscape.
Creative team and cast in attendance
The premiere highlighted the film’s creative team, including: Director Deepti Sivan Pillay, Writer Sanjeev Sivan and lead actors present at the event included: Priyanka Nair, Anjana Appukuttan and Sudhanshu Sanjeev Sivan.
Other cast members, including a child artist from the film, also attended the premiere.
Film explores nostalgia and time travel
Produced by NFDC, the film explores the universal human desire to revisit the past, weaving together nostalgia and emotional storytelling through a time-travel concept.
Distribution and release plans
Distributor Sujith Nair of Dream Big Films was also present at the event and participated in the ceremonial screening.
Achappa’s Album is scheduled for a nationwide theatrical release on April 24, with expectations of appealing to a wide audience base.
