Minister Savita announces schemes for women’s welfare

Penukonda – Andhra Pradesh: State BC, EWS Welfare, Handloom, and Textile Minister S Savita has announced that the Talliki Vandanam scheme will be implemented for students studying in both government and private schools. She also revealed initiatives aimed at women’s economic empowerment, including free sewing training and machines for over one lakh women ahead of International Women’s Day.
Talliki Vandanam scheme for all students
Minister Savita clarified that the Talliki Vandanam scheme will provide financial aid of Rs 15,000 annually to every student in a household, regardless of the number of children. The initiative aims to support students from both government and private schools.

Economic empowerment for women
Highlighting Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu’s focus on women’s development, Minister Savita announced that free sewing training and sewing machines would be provided to over one lakh women. She emphasized that wealth creation and self-employment opportunities for women remain a top priority.
Free bus travel for women soon
The minister reiterated the government’s commitment to launching free bus travel for women, a long-promised initiative aimed at easing financial burdens and enhancing mobility.
Job fair for women and youth
A job fair was organized at Minister Savita’s camp office under the auspices of Indian Design Garments, drawing a large turnout of women and youth. The minister urged women to utilize such employment opportunities and thanked the garment management for supporting the initiative.
Women’s progress key to societal growth
Minister Savita emphasized that women’s economic progress directly contributes to societal and family development. She noted that households with women earning alongside men tend to achieve greater financial stability.
Support for job seekers
The minister assured that those selected in the job fair would receive a salary of over Rs 13,000 and intensive training. Plans are in place to organize similar job fairs in various locations to boost employment opportunities.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation, with women and youth arriving early at the minister’s camp office. Free food and accommodation were provided for all attendees, and several coalition leaders and activists joined the program.
