RPC criticizes rising costs and celebrity culture at Ambani wedding !!!

By Doruvu Paul Jagan Babu : Bureau Chief-South

Special Report:- Meda Srinivas, President of Rashtriya Praja Congress,, has voiced strong criticism over recent events surrounding the wedding of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant, highlighting concerns about increased consumer costs and the role of celebrities in such lavish functions.

Rising costs for consumers

Srinivas pointed out that in conjunction with the high-profile wedding, there was an increase in Jio charges, which he claims financially burdened consumers. He criticized this move as a form of exploitation, where the common people are made to pay more while the affluent enjoy extravagant celebrations.

Celebrity presence and cultural critique

The wedding, which saw the attendance of Telugu and Tamil film stars as hired guests, has been a point of contention for Srinivas. He lamented the trend of movie celebrities being glorified and respected more than traditional cultural figures like Jogini and Matangu. According to Srinivas, these stars were brought in to perform and entertain, treating them more like props rather than esteemed guests.

He expressed concern over the influence such events have on youth, suggesting that the admiration for these celebrities overshadows the respect for traditional cultural practices and figures. Srinivas questioned the morality of celebrating individuals willing to do anything for money, likening them to hired performers rather than genuine participants in the sacredness of marriage ceremonies.

Broader implications for Indian society

Srinivas also used this occasion to comment on broader political and economic issues in India, highlighting what he sees as the intersection of corporate power and political influence. He remarked on the perceived dominance of the Ambani family and suggested that the increase in charges for services like Jio represents a larger issue of corporate exploitation under the current government.

“Rulers of India, our country is crying,” he said, criticizing the current leadership and calling for greater awareness among the public. He described the situation as “India’s fate under Modi as Prime Minister,” implying a detrimental impact on democracy and economic fairness.

Srinivas’s critique reflects deep-seated concerns about the socio-economic disparities and cultural shifts in contemporary India, urging a reevaluation of values and priorities in the face of corporate and celebrity influence.
