CH Dwaraka Tirumala Rao assumes charge as new DGP of Andhra Pradesh !!!

Andhra Pradesh:- CH Dwaraka Tirumala Rao, a distinguished 1989 batch IPS officer, has taken charge as the new Director General of Police (DGP) of Andhra Pradesh. Rao, who tops the seniority list of state cadre IPS officers, began his career as ASP in Kurnool, later serving in Kamareddy and Dharmavaram. His tenure as Additional SP in Nizamabad District Operations Department marked the start of a notable career.

Promoted to SP, Rao served in Anantapur, Kadapa, Medak, and Vijayawada Railway, as well as in the CID and CBI. His roles as DIG included positions in SIB, Anantapur, and Hyderabad ranges. As IG, he contributed to the Octopus and Counter Intelligence Cell departments.

Rao also served as Police Commissioner of Cyberabad in the erstwhile united Andhra Pradesh and as Police Commissioner of Vijayawada City post-state partition. Most recently, he was the MD of RTC from June 2021. Rao is esteemed for his integrity and competence in the police department.
