Ethakota High School HM Krishna Reddy to receive top award in ‘Fellow Teacher’

Andhra Pradesh: KSV Krishna Reddy, Headmaster of Ethakota High School in Ravulapalem Mandal, has been selected for the prestigious State Best Teacher Award in Andhra Pradesh. Chosen in the ‘Fellow Teacher’ category, this award recognizes educators who have made significant contributions without previously applying for awards. The Education Department announced this honour on Saturday.
A career dedicated to educational advancement
Krishna Reddy, a seasoned social science educator and textbook author, has devoted his career to advancing education. As an author, translator, and editor, he has contributed to the development of social science textbooks for grades 6 to 10 and open school programs. Reddy’s initiatives have also included audio lessons for open school students and contributions as an educational columnist for major dailies.
Guiding teachers and supporting students
A State Resource Person in Social Science for the Andhra Pradesh State Educational Research Training Institute, Reddy has developed multiple teacher training modules and led awareness sessions on new teaching methods and materials. He was instrumental in establishing the ‘Andhra Pradesh Social Science Teacher Forum,’ which provides resources to teachers and students alike. His online efforts include setting up the website [bestsocialteacher.com] and managing digital teacher groups with over 14,000 members.
Transforming schools with resources and innovation
Throughout his career, Krishna Reddy has worked closely with local communities and donors to improve school facilities, such as libraries, science labs, and classrooms. At Ithakota High School, he continues to enhance student resources, supporting a holistic learning environment. In his previous role as a HM at Jagannadhagiri, he also successfully led similar initiatives for school development.
A legacy of honours and community support
In recent years, Reddy has earned multiple accolades, including the Konaseema District’s Best Teacher award in 2022 and recognition as the Best Social Science Teacher by the Vijayalakshmi Trust in 2024. In 2023, he secured second place in a state-level English medium teaching competition held by the Center for Teacher Accreditation (CENTA).
