DGP Harish Kumar Gupta vows strict action against social media threats !!!

Andhra Pradesh: In a firm stance against social media misconduct ahead of tomorrow’s vote counting, DGP Harish Kumar Gupta has announced that stringent actions will be taken against individuals making threats and inciting unrest online.

Addressing recent incidents, Gupta highlighted that certain individuals are using social media platforms to challenge rival groups and make personal insults, creating societal tension.

Gupta emphasized that such behaviour will not be tolerated. Measures to combat these actions include the opening of rowdy sheets, application of the PD Act, and registering cases under the IT Act.

Those found posting or sharing provocative content, including photos and videos on platforms like WhatsApp, will be investigated and penalized accordingly.

The DGP also advised group administrators to discourage such activities and warned that police surveillance on social media is ongoing and comprehensive.
