Haryana assembly polls conclude peacefully with 61.19% voter turnout

Haryana: The single-phase polling for 90 Assembly Constituencies in Haryana concluded peacefully, with a voter turnout of 61.19% recorded as of 7 PM, and minor stray incidents of scuffles reported. A total of 1031 candidates, including 101 women, contested the 90 assembly seats.

The elderly and differently-abled voters showed enthusiasm, with many above 100 years old exercising their franchise. In a crackdown on electoral malpractices, the ECI seized Rs. 75.72 crores worth of cash, liquor, and drugs, marking a four-fold increase from 2019.To ensure free and fair polls, 97 Central Observers were deployed, and webcasting was conducted in all polling stations.

District-wise performance

Top districts in seizures: Ambala, Faridabad, and Gurugram Complaint resolution: 99% resolution rate, with 29,000 complaints received Faridabad, Sirsa, and Rohtak recorded the highest number of complaints on the cVIGIL app.

Counting and results

Counting of votes for Haryana and Jammu & Kashmir assembly elections is scheduled on October 8.
