Affair leads to murder conspiracy Proddatur
According to ASP Vibhu Krishna, the couple—married for over 14 years—had been living separately due to ongoing disputes. During this period, the woman developed a relationship with another man, which later turned into an extramarital affair. Police say the husband was seen as an obstacle, leading to the alleged conspiracy to eliminate him.
₹10 lakh contract to execute the plan
ASP revealed that the accused entered into a deal with known offenders to carry out the murder. A contract worth ₹10 lakh was reportedly finalised, with ₹5 lakh paid in advance—raised by selling personal jewellery. The remaining amount was promised after the crime was completed.
Planned attack on bypass road
The conspirators allegedly tracked the victim’s movements for two days before executing the plan. On Thursday night, while the victim was travelling on a motorcycle along the Yerraguntla–Jammalamadugu bypass road, a car rammed into him from behind.

After he fell, the attackers reportedly attempted to assault him with weapons. However, the victim managed to escape and rushed to a nearby police station, preventing the crime from being completed.
Swift police action, 11 arrested
Acting on the complaint, police launched an immediate operation and apprehended 11 individuals involved in the conspiracy. The arrests were made near Yerraguntla Road.
Authorities also seized key evidence, including two cars, multiple weapons, mobile phones, and cash amounting to several lakhs.

Police recovered knives, daggers, and iron rods allegedly intended for the attack. Multiple mobile phones believed to have been used for coordination were also seized, along with a significant amount of cash linked to the contract.
