Kadapa – Andhra Pradesh: Newly elected Kadapa Mayor Paka Suresh has been urged to focus on long-pending civic issues, strengthen public services, and ensure people-friendly governance, during a courtesy meeting held by Rayalaseema Communist Party (RCP) leaders on Friday.
Call for strong, accessible governance
RCP State Secretary Ravi Shankar Reddy stressed that the Mayor must remain accessible to citizens and take up civic issues that have long affected the poorer localities. He emphasized that effective governance begins with a responsive administration that engages with people regularly and resolves their concerns without delay.
Key civic challenges needing immediate action
Reddy pointed out that suburban areas—home to large numbers of economically weaker families—continue to struggle with poor roads, dysfunctional drainage, drinking water shortages, and inadequate street lighting. He said these problems could worsen in the coming summer and urged the Mayor to initiate preventive and permanent solutions. Issues relating to house plots, ration cards and pensions also require phased, systematic resolution, he added.
Courtesy visit to Mayor
Earlier in the day, Reddy visited the Mayor’s chamber, presented him with a sapling as a goodwill gesture, and conveyed his wishes for a people-focused tenure.
RTU State Secretary Siddiramaiah, RCP City Secretary Maqbul Bhasha, City Working Committee Member Madagalam Prasad, Rayalaseema Mahila Sangham District Secretary Tasleem, Dalit Tribal Rights Struggle Association District Honorary President Venkatesh, and leaders Ravi, Obulesu and others attended the meeting.
