Proddatur – Andhra Pradesh: After the Vinayaka Chavithi celebrations, a free medical camp will be held at the municipal premises in Proddatur to provide treatment and medicines to municipal workers. The initiative, taken up under the auspices of CITU in coordination with the Municipal Commissioner and Holistic Hospital, aims to extend much-needed healthcare support to the staff.
Free medical aid for the poor
On Sunday, Holistic Hospital had already organized a similar camp for the poor residents of Amrutha Nagar, where families received free health check-ups, consultations, and medicines. The camp benefitted several underprivileged households who otherwise struggle to afford treatment.
Healthcare support for municipal workers
Acknowledging the efforts of municipal workers, after the festival, CITU leaders will hold discussions with the Commissioner and Holistic Hospital management to replicate the initiative for the municipal staff. Municipal Union Town General Secretary Kundavaram Salmon told WAR-TIMES that the one-day camp will ensure free access to medical services for workers who often neglect their health due to financial limitations.
Why free camps matter
For low-income families and municipal workers, healthcare costs remain a burden. Free medical camps not only ease this strain but also serve as an early detection mechanism for serious illnesses. Community-driven health initiatives like these ensure that vulnerable groups are not left behind in access to medical care.
Community backs the initiative
Town President M Chanti, DYFI Town Secretary Vishwanath, union leaders, and local residents extended their support to the program, stressing the importance of collective efforts in addressing public health needs.
