Shiva Reddy will continue to serve the people even after death’

Andhra Pradesh: The mortal remains of veteran rights activist CHRD Puttha Shiva Reddy were donated to RIMS Medical College in Kadapa, marking a powerful final act of service to society. Leaders paid tribute, recalling his lifelong dedication to the poor and voiceless.
A final gift to science and future generations
Speaking at the handover ceremony held at Kadapa Sarvajana Hospital, RIMS, Rayalaseema Communist Party (RCP) State Secretary Ravi Shankar Reddy said Shiva Reddy’s body donation sets a noble example for future generations. “Donating one’s body for medical education is a profound contribution to society—Shiva Reddy will continue to serve the people even in death,” he remarked.

A tireless voice for the poor and oppressed
Puttha Shiva Reddy, widely respected for his relentless activism, worked throughout his life to safeguard the rights of Dalits, tribals, and the economically weaker sections. He was known for his deep commitment to people’s struggles and his unwavering stand for justice. “His death is an irreparable loss to grassroots movements and the poor he so selflessly served,” said RCP leaders.
Community leaders pay homage in Kadapa
Mourners including Chapala Subbarayudu, Madagalam Prasad, Taslim, Lakshmi Devi, Venkatesh, Obulesu, and Chinna Subbaiah gathered at Shiva Reddy’s residence in Balaji Nagar, Kadapa, to pay floral tributes before the handover to RIMS. Cries of “Johar Puttha Shiva Reddy!” echoed in heartfelt farewell.

Last Rites Attended by Progressive and Communist Leaders*
Several social and political leaders took part in the final rites, including KVPS General Secretary Andra Malyadri and RCP City Secretary Maqbul Bhasha. They hailed Shiva Reddy’s life as a beacon of courage, sacrifice, and service for the downtrodden.
A legacy that lives beyond death
With his body now contributing to medical education and research, Shiva Reddy’s legacy of giving continues to inspire. His dedication to social justice, even in death, stands as a testament to the ideals he lived and died for.
