Nandyal – Andhra Pradesh: A distressing case involving the sexual assault of a 4-year-old girl in Chagalamarri mandal, Nandyal district, has left parents deeply concerned about their children’s safety. State Secretary Lingaiah Goud from the Jai Bharat BC Porata Vedika has pledged to support the victim’s family and is demanding swift legal action against the perpetrators.
Case registered under POCSO Act
The incident, reportedly involving two minors, came to light recently. A case has been registered under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act at Chagalamarri police station. Call for fast-track investigation and justice
Lingaiah Goud emphasized the need for a fast-track court to handle the case, ensuring justice is delivered promptly. He criticized the lack of proactive measures to prevent such incidents and called for stricter enforcement of child protection laws.

Concerns over rising atrocities in Andhra Pradesh
This case adds to the growing list of reported sexual crimes against young girls in the state. Activists highlighted a disturbing trend of increasing child abuse cases, urging the government to address the root causes through:
Comprehensive awareness campaigns on child safety.

Investigations into systemic failures contributing to such incidents.
Jai Bharat demands action from authorities
Attempts to meet local police officials, including the Chagalamarri SI and Allagadda DSP, were unsuccessful. Jai Bharat activists are planning to approach higher authorities to ensure accountability and accelerate the investigation process.
Appeal for government intervention
Lingaiah demanded that the state government take immediate steps to address the alarming rise in crimes against girls. He called for a multi-pronged strategy involving community awareness, improved law enforcement, and robust support systems for victims and their families.
