Andhra Pradesh: In a move to shift away from past political practices, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu announced his commitment to hosting modest, environmentally respectful public meetings. Speaking at a community event in Idupuram, Srikakulam district on Friday, Naidu distributed pensions directly to residents, highlighting his administration’s focus on community welfare and personal connection.
A new era in political engagement
Unlike previous leaders, CM Chandrababu assured there would be no forced attendance or excessive displays in his meetings. “No cutting trees, no hanging of curtains,” he remarked, emphasizing that genuine leadership is earned through sincerity, not spectacle.
Direct outreach to residents
In a gesture underscoring this approach, CM Naidu personally handed a pension to Janaki, a single woman, during his visit to her home in Badepalli. Engaging with her family, he promptly ordered officials to expedite the construction of a new home for them, reflecting his commitment to community welfare.
Ministers join in community efforts
Union Minister Rammohan Naidu, along with state ministers Erram Naidu and Nadendla Manohar, accompanied the Chief Minister during his visit, supporting his pledge for a responsive, community-focused governance style that prioritizes the needs of the people over showmanship.
This policy direction is intended to foster trust and goodwill, aiming to set a standard for leadership that prioritizes the wellbeing of citizens and respect for the environment.
