The officials participated in a farm visit program organized by the District Agriculture Department on Tuesday, calling for greater support and welfare schemes for farmers in the region.

Chandrababu’s ambition: Profitable agriculture for all

During her address at Nidimamidi ZP High School, Minister Savitha praised Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu’s vision to transform agriculture into a profitable venture for farmers. “Chandrababu’s ambition is to make agriculture profitable and sustainable, ensuring every farmer benefits from government schemes and assistance,” she stated.

Polavaram project to turn Rayalaseema green

Minister emphasized the importance of the Polavaram project, highlighting that its completion would bring vast improvements to the Rayalaseema region. “If Polavaram is completed, Rayalaseema will become green, transforming the agricultural landscape,” she said, outlining the government’s efforts to promote irrigation and agricultural development.

TDP’s commitment to farmer welfare

Minister Savitha criticized the previous administration under Jagan Reddy, alleging that agriculture has suffered under his leadership. She pointed out the lack of subsidized farming equipment provided to farmers, contrasting this with TDP’s efforts. “When TDP was in power, we ensured every farmer received drips at subsidized rates,” she said, adding that Chief Minister Naidu has implemented several welfare schemes aimed at supporting farmers.

Focus on agricultural support programs

Highlighting the government’s focus on agriculture, Minister Savitha announced the continuation of the farm school program under the NDA alliance. “The farm school program aims to make agriculture a celebration for farmers. Our goal is for agricultural officials to spend three days each week in the fields, working alongside farmers,” she said.

She also reminded the farmers of TDP’s pre-election promise to provide Rs 20,000 in crop investment assistance annually to farmers, urging them to take advantage of the government programs to reduce investment and increase income.

Social welfare and pensions for eligible citizens

Minister Savitha also touched upon various social welfare initiatives, including pensions and affordable food through Anna canteens. “The Chief Minister’s first act after taking office was signing the DSC file, and the honour of implementing social security pensions and NTR pensions goes to him. In October, pensions will be sanctioned to all eligible persons, and gas cylinders will be distributed to women during Diwali,” she said.

The event at Nidimamidi village saw enthusiastic participation from local public representatives, officials, Janasena and BJP leaders, activists, and supporters. The program underscored the importance of public involvement in promoting the welfare of farmers, with Minister Savitha calling on farmers to show interest in government schemes that aim to improve crop yields and profitability.
