Chengalasetti Appointed RPC Legal Cell Chairman for Both Telugu States
Senior advocate and former Guntur Bar Association President Chengalasetti Venkata Satyanarayana to lead party's legal wing, announces RPC
Rajahmundry – AP: Doruvu Paul Jagan Babu – Assistant Chief Editor: Senior advocate and former president of the Guntur Bar Association, Chengalasetti Venkata Satyanarayana, has been appointed as the Chairman of Legal Cell of the Rashtriya Praja Congress (RPC). The appointment was announced by Panguluri Buchibabu, in-charge for both Telugu states, as per the directions of RPC Chief Meda Srinivas.
‘Legal profession facing job insecurity’
Speaking after his appointment, Chengalasetti said that the legal profession is losing job security and welfare has become a mirage. He alleged that governments are doing nothing for the future of advocates, despite the fact that their intellect and hard work generate crores of rupees in revenue for the government.
He noted that the contribution of every advocate plays a crucial role in the administration of the judiciary today, but it is painful that advocates and their families have no financial security or personal safety net from the government.
Demands for advocates’ welfare
Chengalasetti outlined the key demands for which the RPC Legal Cell will relentlessly work:
Free corporate healthcare: Free medical treatment up to Rs. 30 lakh in private corporate hospitals for advocates and their families, borne by the government.
House sites: Allotment of 500 sq. yards of house sites at a nominal, minimal price to local advocates across Andhra Pradesh.
Education concession: 50% fee concession for children of advocates in private and corporate educational institutions.
Toll plaza exemption: Free access at toll plazas for advocates.
To form committees in all courts
Chengalasetti said he would work towards constituting RPC Legal Cell committees in all courts across two Telugu states.
He expressed his gratitude to party President Meda Srinivas and Telugu states in-charge Panguluri Buchibabu for reposing faith in him and entrusting him with the responsibility, and assured that he would soon work more vigorously to further the ideals of the party.
