Probe 27 Dalit Murders, Punish Guilty: BSP Stages Maha Dharna at Kadapa Collectorate

KADAPA – AP: Doruvu Paul Jagan Babu – Assistant Chief Editor: Demanding a comprehensive inquiry into the murder of 27 Dalits across Andhra Pradesh and stringent legal action against those responsible, the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) staged a Maha Dharna at the Kadapa District Collectorate on Monday.
BSP flays govt over inaction
Addressing the dharna, BSP Proddatur Assembly Constituency President Yamavaram Kiran said that even after several months, justice has eluded the families of 27 Dalits who were murdered in different parts of the state. He condemned the government for failing to take any legal action against the accused.
He said the Maha Dharna was organized across the state on the call given by BSP State President Bandela Gautham Kumar to highlight the atrocities against Dalits.
Memorandum submitted to DRO
BSP State Secretary Gudisenapalli Obayya participated in the protest and extended solidarity.
Later, along with BSP District President Sagili Gurrappa and District In-charge Teetla Ravikumar, the party leaders submitted a memorandum to the District Revenue Officer (DRO), seeking immediate intervention of the District Collector.
They demanded a time-bound and impartial investigation into all 27 cases and protection for the victim families.
