Ambedkar Seva Ratna award honours Munaswamy

Chittoor – Andhra Pradesh: Veteran social activist Srirangapalli Munaswamy was conferred the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Vishishta Seva Ratna Rashtra Award at a large gathering of Mala community representatives held in Guntur district, recognising his four decades of dedicated service to SC and ST communities.

Mala Bandhu–Vana Vindu meet in Guntur

The Mala Bandhu–Vana Vindu meeting was held on the 14th of this month at Koti Gardens, Gorla Waripalyam, in Guntur district. The event brought together Malas from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana to deliberate on community issues and future action.

Leaders present

The meeting was chaired by Dr. John Paul, President of Andhra Pradesh Mala Mahanadu. Prominent leaders who attended as chief guests included Mala Mahanadu National President Golla Arun Kumar, Andhra Pradesh Mala Mahasabha State President Mallela Venkat Rao, Telangana Rashtra Mala Mahanadu President Sunkari Mohan, and former State SC Commission Chairman Victor Prasad, among others.

Community issues discussed

Participants engaged in detailed discussions on various social, economic and political issues concerning the Mala community, with emphasis on collective unity and sustained advocacy for constitutional rights.

Munaswamy honoured for decades of service

All India SC/ST Aikya Vedika Andhra Pradesh State General Secretary and DVMC leader Srirangapalli Munaswamy, who attended the programme from Chittoor district, was presented with the Dr. B R Ambedkar Vishishta Seva Ratna State Award. The award was presented by National Mala Mahanadu President Golla Arun Kumar and Andhra Pradesh Mala Mahasabha President Mallela Venkat Rao in recognition of Munaswamy’s four decades of service programmes for Mala and tribal communities.

Commitment to continue service

Speaking to media after receiving the award, Munaswamy expressed his gratitude to the organisers and community leaders. He reaffirmed his commitment to intensify service activities for SC and ST communities and assured special efforts to address their long-pending problems in the coming days.
