YS Sharmila expresses optimism at Congress’s new Indira Bhavan launch

Delhi: APCC Chief YS Sharmila expressed her joy and optimism as top Congress leader Sonia Gandhi inaugurated the newly constructed six-story Congress Party office, ‘Indira Bhavan’, at 9A Kotla Road, Delhi. The state-of-the-art facility, adorned with photographs showcasing the Congress Party’s 140-year history, reflects the party’s legacy and future ambitions.
YSR’s legacy honoured in new party office
Sharmila was particularly moved by the inclusion of photographs depicting the late YS Rajasekhar Reddy’s historic padayatra. “Seeing these photos in the new office signifies the respect the Congress Party continues to hold for YSR’s contributions,” she remarked, emphasizing the enduring legacy of the former Chief Minister of united Andhra Pradesh.
Optimism for Congress revival at the Center
She highlighted that the inauguration of Indira Bhavan symbolizes renewed confidence in the Congress Party’s potential to reclaim power at the national level. “This building, inaugurated in the new year, serves as a beacon of hope for the Congress Party’s resurgence,” Sharmila added.
Discussions with Rahul Gandhi on AP party strengthening
During her visit to Delhi, Sharmila met with Congress’s Lok Sabha leader Rahul Gandhi to discuss strategies for strengthening the party in Andhra Pradesh. Various issues regarding party revival and mobilization efforts were brought to the table.
Consultations with AICC leadership
Sharmila also had a courtesy meeting with AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge and General Secretary KC Venugopal. She briefed the high command on steps being taken to fortify the Congress presence in Andhra Pradesh and sought guidance for further initiatives.
The event marked a blend of legacy and vision, uniting leaders and reaffirming the Congress Party’s resolve to rebuild its strength across India.
