Gram panchayat workers protest over pending wages

Itikyala – Telangana: The Telangana Progressive Gram Panchayat Workers Union (IFTU) staged a protest on Tuesday, demanding the immediate release of pending wages for gram panchayat workers in Itikyal mandal.

Plight of workers

Workers have not received salaries for eight months, leaving them struggling to make ends meet. The union criticized the government’s apathy towards workers’ welfare.

Permanent positions for multi-purpose workers

Repeal of multi-purpose worker policy

Equal pay for equal work

Union’s warning

The union warned that if the government fails to address their demands, workers will face immense hardship during the upcoming rainy season.

‘Government’s indifference unacceptable’

“We urge the government to release special funds to pay workers’ wages,” said Jammichedu Karthik, District Secretary. “The government’s indifference towards workers is unacceptable.”

The protest was attended by union leaders Harish, Madhu, Venkatrami Reddy, and others.
