Vijayawada – Andhra Pradesh: On Saturday, KVPS commemorated Babu Jagajjivan Ram’s 117th birth anniversary in Vijayawada, pledging to protect the Constitution and resist caste-based oppression amid calls for united action against BJP and its allies’ policies.
Tributes at Shikamani Center
The Kula Vyathirekha Porata Samithi (KVPS) marked Babu Jagajjivan Ram’s 117th birth anniversary at Vijayawada’s Shikamani Center. State General Secretary Andra Malyadri led the event, joined by District President and Secretary Gundimeda Kranti Kumar and Gudise Nataraj, alongside leaders Gurumurthy, Shyam, Gangadhar, Vijay, Sattibabu, Koteswara Rao, Varaprasad, and John Mestri, who paid floral tributes to the late leader’s legacy.
Defending the Constitution
Speaking at the gathering, Malyadri equated honouring Jagajjivan Ram with safeguarding the Indian Constitution and public institutions, which he claimed are under threat from “Manuwada fanatics.” He criticized the erosion of government sector protections and demanded reservations in the expanding private sector to ensure equity for marginalized communities.
Opposing caste and political forces
Malyadri called for a united front against Sanatana Dharma’s caste system, targeting the BJP, its allies, and the YSRCP for allegedly denying Dalits education, jobs, and opportunities. He urged building a “new India” through collective resistance, a sentiment echoed by Nataraj, Gangadhar, and others who addressed the meeting chaired by Kranti Kumar.
