INSIGHT Organizes Nasha Mukti Awareness Programme in Ranchi

Youth, families and community members sensitized about the harmful effects of alcohol, tobacco and other addictive substances

Ranchi, Area Correspondent Indian Socio Income and Grievance Helping Trust (INSIGHT) organized a Nasha Mukti (De-Addiction) Awareness Programme in Ranchi on May 7, 2026. The programme aimed to increase public awareness about the harmful effects of alcohol, tobacco and other addictive substances and encourage healthier, substance-free lifestyles.

During the programme, community members were informed about the health and social consequences of substance misuse. Participants were encouraged to understand how addiction can affect individuals, families and the wider community.

As part of the initiative, Nasha Mukti awareness leaflets and educational materials were distributed among participants. INSIGHT volunteers interacted with youth, families and community members to discuss prevention, early support and the importance of seeking appropriate assistance when needed.

The programme also focused on reducing the stigma associated with seeking help for substance-use problems. Participants were provided with information about counselling, treatment, rehabilitation and referral services that may be available to people seeking support.

INSIGHT volunteers conducted community outreach and awareness activities to promote responsible choices and healthier lifestyles. The initiative encouraged people to remain informed about the risks associated with addictive substances and to seek appropriate professional support when required.

INSIGHT works in areas including child welfare, old-age care, women empowerment, street animal welfare and social protection of underprivileged and marginalized communities.
