Operation Vajra Prahar Intensifies: 115 Police Personnel Conduct Massive Search in Proddatur

Proddatur – Andhra Pradesh: In a major crackdown under “Operation Vajra Prahar,” police in Proddatur carried out an extensive cordon and search operation early Saturday morning, deploying 115 personnel. The drive, aimed at curbing crime and drug-related activities, resulted in 90 vehicles being booked for lacking proper documentation, while authorities intensified surveillance and public awareness measures.

Massive early morning operation on bypass road

Acting on the directives of District SP Shelke Nachiket Viswanath and Proddatur ASP Vibhu Krishna, Circle Inspector TV Kondareddy led the operation beginning at 6:00 AM in Eswar Reddy Nagar along the bypass road.

A total of 115 police personnel—including four Circle Inspectors, 15 Sub-Inspectors, ASIs, and women police staff—participated in the large-scale enforcement drive.

90 vehicles booked; Drone surveillance deployed

During the cordon and search, police inspected vehicle documents such as driving licenses, registration certificates, insurance, PUC certificates, fitness certificates, and pending e-chalans.

As many as 90 vehicles were found without proper documentation and were booked accordingly. Drone surveillance was also employed to monitor the operation and enhance enforcement efficiency.

Strict warning to offenders and rowdy-sheeters

Police conducted counselling sessions for rowdy-sheeters and habitual offenders. CI Kondareddy issued a stern warning, stating that individuals maintaining good conduct would be considered for removal from rowdy sheets, while repeat offenders would face stringent action under the Preventive Detention (PD) Act.

Public advisory on traffic compliance and safety

Police Officials urged motorists to carry all necessary documents while traveling and to clear pending fines related to traffic violations. Citizens were also encouraged to report any suspicious or illegal activities, including drug trafficking, to help ensure a safer society.

Statewide anti-drug drive under Operation Vajra Prahar

Speaking to WAR-TIMES, CI Kondareddy stated that “Operation Vajra Prahar” is a statewide initiative led by the Andhra Pradesh Police in coordination with the Elite Anti-Narcotics Group for Law Enforcement (EAGLE). The operation focuses on dismantling drug networks and preventing the circulation of narcotics such as ganja.

As part of the initiative, authorities are conducting intensive surveillance, cordon-and-search operations in hostels, lodges, rented houses, and public areas, along with counselling sessions for offenders and awareness programs targeting youth, he added.

Focus on visible policing and community awareness

Speaking on the occasion, Police Officers emphasized that the police department is committed to “visible policing” and community engagement to ensure public safety. They added that awareness campaigns are being conducted to educate citizens—especially youth—about the health and legal risks associated with drug abuse and crme.

The ‘Operation Vajra Prahar’ underscores the police department’s intensified efforts to maintain law and order, curb drug-related crimes, and promote a secure environment for the public in the region.
