RCP demands Tahsildar suspension, resolution of Dalit land disputes

Kadapa – Andhra Pradesh: Rayalaseema Communist Party (RCP) State Secretary Ravi Shankar Reddy on Monday demanded immediate resolution of land disputes in the district and the suspension of the Porumamilla Tahsildar over alleged irregularities affecting poor and Dalit families.
Protest at Collectorate
Ravi Shankar Reddy, along with RCP and RTU leaders, staged a protest at the Collector’s office and submitted a detailed memorandum to the District Revenue Officer (DRO), highlighting multiple land-related grievances.
Porumamilla land irregularities alleged
Reddy alleged that the Tahsildar was attempting to illegally transfer 91 cents of land belonging to Gampa Chalapathi of Narsingapalli village, Rangasamudram panchayat (Survey No. 413), to others. He said documentary evidence was submitted to the DRO.
Dalit lands in Old Kadapa under encroachment
He stated that seven Dalit families of Old Kadapa were allotted 1.55 acres each in Chinna Chowk area (Survey No. 919) in 2005, but upper-caste persons have occupied the land despite valid pattas and records.
Leaders present, warning issued
RTU State Secretary Siddiramayya, RCP city committee members Mudagalam Prasad, Chapala Subbarayudu, Tasleem, Lakshmidevi, Venkatesh, Pratap Reddy, Muni Reddy, Vijay Kumar, Obulesu, along with victims from Old Kadapa and Porumamilla, participated. Reddy warned of a large-scale protest if action is not taken.
